| TomKat
Engaged ?
|
|
Tom Cruise has
been trying hard to keep it quiet, but
apparently he's got a little thing for Katie
Holmes. Have you heard? Perhaps you caught a
hint of his mild interest on Oprah, when he
jumped on furniture, pumped his fists and
dropped to his knees no fewer than six times,
shyly admitting, "I'm in love!" Given such
romance reticence, the following bit of news
might come as a wee bit of a surprise to TomKat
watchers. The New York Post claims the toothy
twosome, who have been dating a little more than
a month with less-than-stellar PR results, are
now engaged. According to the paper, the
actress isn't yet showing off a knuckle-buckling
diamond ring but she has moved into Cruise's
pad. But she is starting to sound like her
overly enthusiastic beau as she eerily echoed "I
couldn't be happier. I'm so happy, He's the most
amazing man in the whole world."

Pitt's design for
living |
|
The London Daily Mail reports
the megastar and architecture buff, who spent
years remodeling the Wallace Neff-designed
Beverly Hills mansion he once shared with
Jennifer Aniston, is set to lend a hand to
architect Frank Gehry in the design of a $455
million seaside residential and commercial
project in England .
Gehry, who has designed, among
other things, the Guggenheim in Bilbao and the
Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles , has known
Pitt, 41, for several years. In 2004, he invited
the actor to join a team that was brainstorming
ways to revitalize a section of downtown L.A.
near the concert hall.
"I've got a few men I respect
very much, and one would be Frank Gehry," Pitt
told Vanity Fair last year. "He said to me, 'If
you know where it's going, it's not worth
doing.' That's become like a mantra for me.
That's the life of the artist."

Cozies Up to Co-Star:
|
Reel life has turned into
real life for Keanu Reeves. People reports the
reclusive "Matrix" star, 40, is dating Lynn
Collins, 28, who plays his girlfriend in the
forthcoming romantic drama "Il Mare." For
those unfamiliar with Collins' body of work,
she's probably best known for essaying Portia to
Al Pacino's Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice"
and as Mark Ruffalo's wet-blanket fiancée in "13
Going on 30." The pair apparently kept the
romance under wraps during the Chicago-based
production, in which Keanu reteams with his
"Speed" co-star Sandra Bullock. A set source
tells the Chicago Sun-Times, "If there was
something going on, they
certainly.

Let's hope no one at
"Punk'd" ever gets the idea to target Sharon
Osbourne, 'cause chances are she'll make them
pay ... a lot. The London Mirror reports Mrs. Ozzy
was most displeased when a cameraman sprayed
her with a squirt gun disguised as a microphone
this week in London . "She screamed, 'You
[bleeping] [bleep-ard],'" an onlooker tells the
paper. Sharon retaliated by pouring a bucket of
water over the prankster's head. Then she
laughed. A lot .
There are few things in
life more humiliating than being dumped from a
UPN sitcom, but that's the fate that has
befallen Shannen Doherty. According to TV Guide,
the temperamental actress has been given the
boot from the fall series "Love, Inc.," in which
she was set to play a matchmaker with a
dysfunctional love life. "Shannen is a terrific
actress," says a network rep, "but we're going
in a different creative direction with the
show." Adds a studio mole to the mag, "Preview
audiences were not responding to her."
